MONDAY,
SEPT 16:
From the
wet grass, apparently it rained some more last night; still drizzling a little this morning. So the timing of our stay here was
perfect!
Left
Stewart relatively early. Bear Glacier appeared
differently in the cloudy light than it did yesterday in bright sunlight and
shadow.
Made good
time. Stopped at the intersection of the
Cassiar & Yellowhead (Hwy 16) Hwys to get gas and a little lunch. The big sign promoting Alaska is obviously
meant for people travelling on their way to
Alaska, not from it. That’s why the gal
in the photo is sad-faced. She’s going
the wrong way!
From now on, we’ll pretty much be travelling
over the same roads that we headed out on when we started our Northern trek
over 16 weeks ago. Wonder if we’ll recognize any landmarks. As we traveled east, left the spectacular
mountain scenery behind and entered mostly level river valleys.
Stopped at a really nice RV park in Vanderhoof for the night
.
