SATURDAY,
SEPT 7:
Slept
late! Partly due to time change, and
partly due to subliminal knowledge that we didn’t have a big agenda today.
First
time to really see the surroundings of the campground. Mountain views; really lovely, even though
again cloudy.
The electrical problem was only due to the fact that
we had 15 amps, so that was easily corrected when Bill asked the teenager at
the office to switch the circuit breaker to 30 amps. When she said that our site already had 30,
he politely disagreed, and insisted that she switch it. Presto change – we had full electricity.
An easy
3-hour drive east on the Alaska Hwy to Whitehorse. Found a very nice RV park again. Paid for 2 nites; may extend.
Relaxed
& napped in the late afternoon, and went thru several weeks of mail that
Lynn had forwarded us.
Fixed a really delicious dinner of rib-eye’s,
baked potato, mixed veggies, and a nice salad.
Topped off w/ a bottle of merlot.
A really nice meal, and the wine mellowed us out. Think
we needed this relaxed, slow day.
